Dominican Republic-Un Poco De Todo 2

The northern coast of the Dominican Republic is where most of the riches are found. This is because of the amber that washes up on the coast. Amber is made from tree sap that drops down while trapping bugs flying through the air. The sap hardens and the bugs are entombed for millions of years. Because of the amber on the coast, the Dominicans call it The Amber Coast. Did you know that in the opening scene for Jurassic Park, they were in the Dominican Republic while picking up one of the oldest pieces of amber in the world?

Dominican Republic-Un Poco De Todo

Since the 1950's, Ozzie Virgil made "Beisbol," big by playing in the Major Leagues. That attracted more players in the Dominican Republic to pursue Beisbol and make it up to Ozzie Virgil's footsteps. When the ten year war in Cuba struck, the Dominic Republicans knew they had a chance to make it to the Major Leagues. Then the Dominican quickly set up 6 teams with the best Beisbol player they could find in the DR. Now The Dominican Republic Teams are almost unstoppable in The Caribbean World Series. The fans call them incredible on T.V and incredible on the field.
